Jeans for Genes day – Friday 22 September 2017

Monday, 18 September 2017

Friday 22 September is Jeans for Genes Day and we intend to raise as much as we can.  Each student will need to bring in £1 to donate to the charity and will be allowed to wear non-school uniform as long as one item is denim (preferably jeans). Form tutors will collect the donations in form time on 21 and 22 September.  Students are reminded that their non-school uniform outfit must be appropriate and comfortable for school – no revealing outfits and/or heels.  Students must have their regular stationery equipment with them.   Any student who does not wish to donate to the charity must come to school wearing their uniform.

Another year of success for Landau Forte Academy QEMS

Thursday, 24 August 2017

Results at Landau Forte QEMS have remained stable despite the challenges posed by national changes to English and maths GCSEs. The number of students who achieved a pass in English and maths is 50%, which remains in line with 2016 outcomes.

The academy is very proud of the improvements seen in maths outcomes. As a result of focused intervention in maths, the number of students who have achieved the national standard has increased on the 2016 figure by 4%. In addition to this, the number of students achieving a higher level pass in maths (grade 7+ or A+) has also increased by 3%.

Students and staff alike at Landau Forte QEMS have worked tirelessly during the academic year and all should be proud of their hard work and achievements at this time. In particular, attention should be drawn to:

Julia Kwasniewska – 6 A*s, 4 As, Grade 8 in Maths, Grade 9 in English.
Julia will be studying chemistry, Biology, English and Maths at A Level

Oksana Zimina – Grade B in AS Maths (having previously achieved an A* in GCSE maths), 8 A*s, Grade 9 in English.
Oksana will be studying Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths at A Level

Molly Romney – 6 A*s, 1 A, Grade 8 in Maths, Grade 7 in English
Molly will be studying Fashion Design.
