Our GCSE Geography students took a trip to Carding Mill Valley as a part of their course to understand how to complete a geographical investigation.
The students investigated how the river characteristics changed as they travelled downstream. This involved students learning the methods and techniques for collecting data along the River Ashbrook in Carding Mill Valley. Students had to measure how the velocity, width and depth and bed load size and shape change as we move along the river. We also walked up to waterfall and students used their lesson knowledge to explain the formation of the waterfall.
