COVID-19 Catch-up Premium
During 2020/21 the government announced £1 billion of funding to support children and young people to catch up lost time after school closures during the Coronavirus pandemic. £650 million of this funding was earmarked for a one-off catch-up premium to ensure schools have the support they need to help all students make up for lost teaching time our implemented plans for this are shown in the links below.
Pupil Premium
This is additional school funding paid by a specific grant based on a school census for pupils who are registered as eligible free-school meals. Ever 6 (children who have been in receipt of FSM within the last 6 years), Looked After Children/Adopted Children, Children wholes parents are currently in the armed forces.

These are the aims of our Pupil Premium strategy plan:
- Close the gap in literacy
- Close the gap in mathematics
- Ensure all students experience quality first wave teaching
- Improve engagement for disadvantaged pupils
- Ensure students have access to the wider curriculum
The Academy’s vision is modelled in our Academy values; ‘Curiosity, Compassion and Courage’. We also strongly believe in an inclusive education for all. We believe that all of our students deserve a curriculum that meets their differing needs and enables them to fulfil their unique potential. We want our students to be successful members of our community and to maximise their life opportunities. It is the intention of our curriculum to enable this.

At Landau Forte academy QEMS we are committed to providing an environment that encourages all pupils to work to and fulfil their potential. The targeted and strategic use of Pupil Premium funding will support us in achieving our aims.
Our aim is to not only narrow but ‘remove’ the gap in attainment between disadvantaged and non-disadvantaged. This will be achieved by implementing a clear and precise plan involving four key aspects:

We are committed to supporting all of our students, not only with their studies, but also with the wider curriculum. If your child is eligible for Pupil Premium funding we can provide the following to support you as a family:
- A contribution towards:
- the cost of an educational trip related directly to one of their subjects
- A contribution towards the cost of a trip not related directly to one of their subjects
- Contribution towards the cost of uniform and sports kit
- Contribution towards shoes
- Contribution towards school uniform
- Contribution towards equipment, such as specialist equipment, ingredients, materials, calculators.
